St. Lawrence women's squash's
Angel Otshabeng was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Year and five Saints were named to the All-Liberty League teams as announced by the league office on Friday morning.
Otshabeng, who was also named to the All-League first team, had a very successful first season in Canton occupying the top spot in the Saints' order. The Gaborone, Botswana native went 7-6 overall on the season and her marquee moment came in the Liberty League Championship where she took home Most Outstanding Player honors following a huge win to win St. Lawrence the league title.
Along with Otshabeng,
Laura Franz and
Meg Pruett were named to the league's first team. Franz was 9-6 on the season primarily playing out of the number four and five spots, while Pruett was 9-5 playing from two and three. Their nine wins were tied for the most on the team during the season.
Mariam Dodd and
Madeleine Martin are on this year's second team from St. Lawrence. Martin was 7-8 on the season and played everywhere from number one to three in the order. Dodd, a first-year from Louisville, Ky. Was also 7-8 for the Saints and was red-hot towards the end of the season winning some big matches along the way.
