In a rematch of the Liberty League Championship match between the No. 4 Saints and the No. 5 Big Red, the St. Lawrence University women's squash team fell 7-2 to Denison in the opening match of the Walker Cup at the CSA Team Nationals in Philadelphia, Pa.
The Saints fell to 6-7 with the loss.
Madeleine Martin accounted for one of the St. Lawrence wins as she took on Amelia King from the number two spot. She would earn a hard-earned sweep 11-8, 11-9, 11-8 to get the Saints on the board.
Laura Franz earned the second win for the Saints in the number five spot against Helena Fournaris. Franz lost the first game but took the second by a staggering 20-18 score. The two traded another pair of games which led to the winner-take-all fifth game. Franz took the 3-2 win with an 11-6 victory.
The Scarlet and Brown fell to the consolation bracket where they will take on No. 8 Connecticut College tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
