The Saints started off their Week one in the NECC with a sturdy demonstration of potential. As our teams transition back into the competitive season, we look forward to a fruitful Fall semester. Valorant GC kicked off the week on Monday with a 0-2 loss against Arkansas State University-Mountain Home. As this was the first competitive game this roster has ever seen, there is a lot of work to be done, but each member of the team is eager to find their first win of the season, 1-13 on Bind, 3-13 on Lotus. Valorant Open continued our competitive week with a fair fight met with inevitable misfortune falling 0-2 to the University of Louisville, despite both maps having their fair share of back and forth, 9-13 on Bind, 6-13 on Haven. League of Legends fought valiantly in their Tuesday evening game against the University of Louisville, and despite losing 0-2, managed to secure their fair share of picks, and objectives giving a positive outlook on the season with a team that also had some significant roster changes from last Spring. Rocket League managed to keep a decisive lead over Edinboro University besting them 3-1 in their best of five series Thursday night.
Our highlighted team for the week is our Super Smash Brothers Ultimate roster, who managed to secure the Saint's first fall season victory on Tuesday night in a dominant match against Waynesburg University Black.
Andrew Holland and
Ryan Darby took over the first game with Darby taking an impressive 8/12 stocks for Waynesburg's first match. Holland closed it out the remaining four without conceiving a stock of his own.
Logan Thomas started the next set hot by taking out six stocks leaving
Henry Julca to take out the remaining six. Waynesburg fought hard till the very end, but the St. Lawrence Smash Team was deemed too much for Waynesburg to handle. The St. Lawrence Saints are ready for week two of the NECC starting on Monday, September 30th.
