The St. Lawrence University men's track and field squad participated in the second day of the AARTFC championships Thursday, finishing the event 17
th overall as a team.
"It was a fun and exciting season with a lot of highlights, personal bests and positive progress," said Saints head coach
John Newman. "I'm proud of the team for qualifying one of our biggest groups to this championship and grateful for our seniors leaving it better than they found it."
Jack Simack came up with a personal-best effort in the javelin throw to start the day off for the Scarlet and Brown. He posted a 52.80m toss, beating his previous record by just under a full meter on his first attempt of the afternoon. He was seeded 22
nd entering the event and finished ninth.
Zachary Jaworski returned to the field as well, taking part in the shot put. He posted a best attempt of 13.46m in the event to finish 26
th overall in the region.
The 4x800m relay squad saw the team of
Tye Royal,
Henry Baker,
Christopher O'Donnell and
Leif Harvey compete in the event, placing 18
th overall in the relay with a time of 8:20.73.
O'Donnell and Jaworski wrapped up their careers at St. Lawrence with their outings at Cortland. The Saints will now look forward to beginning the 2024-25 season.
