Valorant vs. Trent University - February 12
Due to Trent showing up 30 minutes late to the match they were forced to forfeit match one. This means only one map would be played and it just so happened to also be the Saints map pick. The Attack half was interesting as the Excalibur's played extremely passively scared to make a move. This at first caught the Saints off guard but they were able to adapt to bring it to a 6 - 6 scoreline at the half. Sky was having a great game at this point consistently taking map control as a solo and using his omen utility perfectly. To start the second half Zorts popped off going 12 - 3 over the course of 4 rounds. Overall, the game ended after a dominate second half by the Saints ending the game 13-8 and 2-0 map score for the Saints.Â
League of Legends vs. College of the Holy Cross -Â February 14
League of Legends took to the rift as they looked to secure their first win of the season. Unfortunately, there was not much scouting information for some of Holy Cross's players. The Holy Cross team caught the Saints off guard with some flex picks. The Saints had an impressive showing but fell short to Holy Cross losing the series 0-2. Next week the Saints take on Trent University, who they beat in the preseason and hope to take down again for their first season win.Â
Valorant vs. Pace University -Â February 19
The Saints went up against Pace University, and instead of keeping up pace with the Setters, they outran them and ended the game in dominant fashion with a 2-0 victory. The Setters decided to choose Ascent in an act of confidence against the Saints knowing that it is one of the Saints' best maps. The Saints stepped up to the challenge with Sirus and Erik holding down B site as a dynamic duo. Ridge and Chris showed some effective team chemistry on the other side of the map. The Saints had a dominate 8-2 lead after a fantastic start and continued to fire on all cylinders. Then it was the Saints map pick in bind in which Sirus was subbed out and Zach came in. Sirus was moved onto the Chamber, a role he is yet to play this season. Last season's bind was the team's best map easily and there was no sign of rust here against Pace as Sky's mid rounding allowed the team to run circles around Pace not letting them take a breath at any point. The Saints' communication could have been a bit more on point and they will be working on that into the future. As it stands the Saints are yet to drop a map and find themselves gunning for the top spot in the league.Â
Super Smash Bros vs. Southern New Hampshire University -Â February 20
St. Lawrence starts the season with the debut of Smash's h's recruit Darby. Both teams' performances were exceptional, but the SNHU appeared too much for the St. Lawrence team to handle. However, the Saints stand tall as they shrug this loss off recollecting themselves to secure the team's first win for the next game. The season just started, and the team cannot be more impatient to play other teams and see how the season will go.
Overwatch vs. University of Southern Maine -Â February 20
The up-starting Saint Lawrence Overwatch 2 team is off to a tough start in their bracket for this season. Our game against USM was reminiscent of the first game of the season, where each round was a close fought battle, but the Saint's inexperience got the best of them again, losing the edge in the end of each map, tipping the scales to hand the points to the huskies.Â
Overwatch vs. Centre College -Â February 22
The Saints played into a matchup of higher difficulty than they have seen so far before. "This 0-3 loss gave us quite a bit of information as to where our biggest weaknesses lie. In fact, it has helped shape a new practice schedule for the rest of the season. This lineup is still new to the collegiate Esports' scene, and even with the rocky start- I believe in my players dedication and hard work to improve their standings for the rest of the season" - Coach SIXÂ
Rocket League vs. New Jersey City University -Â February 22
The Saints came into the matchup looking to jump to 2-0 on the season and they did just that. Only dropping one game in the best of five series and coming out on top 3-1 in games, the Saints cruised to the win with swift communication and great touches.Â
Super Smash Bros vs. Assumption University - February 22
Upsetting defeat against Assumption University. Excellent performances from both teams. Sadly, the Saints fell short. Every member did their best to turn the game around. Darby got his first stock and Henny got some clips in and Andyisabaws pulled out the pocket Pyra/Mythra to get us some room for a potential game three. Regardless, the Saints are hungry for more and will hit the lab to get our first win of the season.
Rocket League vs. Army -Â February 23
The Saints came out confident in their match vs Army resulting in a 3-0 sweep, coming back and winning the first game in overtime and winning the last game in overtime as well. This victory propels the Saints to 3-0 in league play so far this season.Â
