First-year Grégory Malsang earned his first collegiate win, and Athrva Yadav and Dean Brooker earned wins. Still, the No. 22 St. Lawrence University men's squash team ultimately fell 6-3 on Sunday afternoon against No. 15 Rochester in Rochester, N.Y.

St. Lawrence fell to 0-3 with the loss, while the Yellowjackets improved to 2-5.

At number two, Malsang took on Omar Zakaria and after a close 11-9 win, he won the second game 11-2 to take the commanding lead. The newcomer closed the win with an 11-6 result to pick up his first win in Scarlet and Brown.

In the number eight spot, Yadav took on Nicholas Gill and won his match 3-0. Despite the scores being close at 11-8, 11-8, 11-9, Yadav took the sweep.

Brooker came up with the Saints' third win at number nine by retirement. His opponent Karim Moataz suffered an injury while up 11-10 in the first game giving the win to Brooker.

At number one, Lewis Anderson went to five games against Yash Fadte in the marquee matchup. The two traded games with Anderson taking the second and fourth sets. Fadte took the match with an 11-4 win.

Hassan Madkour also took his opponent to five games in the fifth spot. Madkour took on Jacob Koeppel and went down 2-0 with a pair of 11-8 losses. He fought back with a pair of wins of his own by the score of 11-4, 11-7 but fell in the deciding game 11-6.

The team will close out their first semester of action tomorrow when the team heads north of the border to take on No. 14 Western University in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.
