Nick Lyndaker had an impressive display on a big stage Saturday, registering a sixth place finish at the Paul Short Run on Saturday morning in Lehigh, Pa.
In a field of 373 finishers, including some of the highest-ranked teams in DIII men's cross country, Lyndaker placed inside the top 10 finishers with a final time of 24:45.3. Lyndaker increased his standing as the race went on, after reaching the first mile in 36
th place. He then made up 30 positions between that and the five-kilometer mark, putting himself in scoring position.
"Many of the guys got a big confidence boost from the efforts and we got to see how we matched up head to head with many regional and nationally ranked teams," said head coach
John Newman. "About half the team members also ran life PRs. Nick ran an exceptional race today in a loaded field to finish sixth."
Lyndaker's time was the fourth fastest time by a Saint over the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course in Lehigh. He also has placed in the top-15 for Saints all-time men's cross country times with his outing.
