Week Two Recap
Our Saints are back for week two of their fall season in the NECC. GC Valorant started our week off with a tough matchup against Marietta College, who managed to shut down our offense leading to a 0-2 loss against Marietta, 0-13 on Bind, 4-13 on Lotus. Valorant Open bounced back with a strong performance against Northeastern, but nonetheless was overcome by the dominant defense the Huskies put together losing 7-13 on Haven and 11-13 on Ascent.
The League of Legends team lost 0-2 against Midway University despite a standout performance from
Gabe Blake &
Sonny Mo in the bot lane as ADC and Support. SSBU finished their week off with another strong performance winning 2-0 against Trent University, marking this as their second win in a row on road to an undefeated campaign.
Our highlighted team for the week is our Rocket League roster, who managed to swing a clean blow to Lebanon Valley College without dropping a single round. The Saints scored over 14 goals total during their series with
Hunter Young, Eric Starapoli, and Skylar Deitz scoring in the first game of the series leading to a 3-0 start to the best of three. The team went on to demonstrate a strong display of their talent with Deitz securing a hat trick in game two and game three, and both Young & Staropoli finding a total of eight cumulative saves to keep Lebanon's highest scoring game to two goals. The Saints look forward to week three, where both Valorant teams and our League of Legends team aim to secure their first win of the fall season while others look to keep hold of their existing momentum.
Week Three Recap
Our Saints return for week three of the NECC. GC Valorant started the week off with an 0-2 loss against Nazareth University, a tough defeat but the scoreboard doesn't tell the story of hardly the Saints fought on Lotus, planting the bomb multiple rounds.
Naomi Faucett scored an ace, cleaning up the entire Nazareth squad on the first round of their defensive half. League of Legends found their footing winning their first match against West Virginia Tech in their best-of-three series but were unable to secure the momentum needed to close out the game and ended in a loss 1-2 in their series. Both St. Lawrence Rocket League and Super Smash Bros continue their dominant reign in their Northeast A Division and Lake Ontario Division, respectively. Will either of these teams be able to continue their undefeated streak?
Our highlighted team for the week is our Open Valorant roster, who dealt a devastating blow to Centre College to end Centre's undefeated streak and acquire their first win for the Saints.
Erik Schneider scored an ace, single-handedly disassembling the entire Centre College lineup in a 1v5 clutch to keep the Saints ahead. The Saints held Centre to a scoreless until the 10th round on Haven, where Centre College finally got a round on the board turning the score to a 9-1 lead for the Saints. The Saints ended up winning Haven 13-4 and Ascent 13-3 in a huge swing of momentum that bodes well for the remainder of the season as we head into week four of the NECC.
