The St. Lawrence University women's track and field team won the Intercollegiate Athletics Twilight Meeting on Saturday evening in their final regular season meet on an overcast Saturday afternoon in Canton, N.Y.
Haylei Coolican won the metric mile in a meet record time of 4:48.83 to hit the league and regional qualifying standards. That time also lowers her personal best by over five seconds.
Kristina Koes won the long jump, reaching 5.09 meters.
Laken Mooney took third place reaching 4.67 meters. Mooney also finished second in the triple jump, reaching 9.36 meters.
The Saints won the final event on the track, the 4x400 meter relay in 2:11.16. Seniors
Alexa Smith and Koes ran the opening two legs, and first-years
Caelan McHarney and
Kaylee Bertini ran the final two, and the quartet bested second place by over six seconds.
Bertini also had a pair of second place finishes. She ran a personal best in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.12 seconds, and cleared 1.48 meters in the high jump.
Emily Boswell led the Saints' throwers, finishing second in the shot put and the discus. First-year
Rosemary Fleischmann took third in the hammer throw, throwing 32.54 meters, about a quarter of a meter off from her best distance.
The Saints won the four team meet. They edged out Plattsburgh by seven points.. Following the meet seniors
