Box Score The sixth-seeded Saints went 2-1 in the doubles round, but third-seeded Vassar took the first four matches of the singles round to hand the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team a 5-2 loss on Friday evening at the Reis Tennis Center at Cornell University.
The Saints saw their season end at 8-8 overall, while the Brewers improved to 12-5 and will advance to the semifinals against No. 2 Hobart tomorrow.
At number one doubles,
Nathan Turtledove and
Ben Moolman lined up against Fernando Bauermeister and Nolan Kubiak. The match was a great one that went to the extra point with the Scarlet and Brown tandem winning 8-7 (7-4).
At two,
Adam Heilbronner and
Broderick Pinto took on Russell Oh and Miles Sondergaard Jensen. The Boulder, Colorado pair would secure the 8-4 match in just 49 minutes.
Vassar would take the first four matches in singles to secure the win.
At number four,
Cole Hamilton was up 6-4, 5-4 against Arnav Agostinho before the match was called, while Heilbronner came back from a 6-1 opening set loss against Benjamin Almquist at number two with a 6-4 set two win to tie up the match. Â
