Jimmy King shot three under par to lead the St. Lawrence University men's golf team on day one of the Liberty League Championships at the par-72 Shenendoah Golf Club at the Turning Stone in Verona, N.Y. on Friday afternoon.
King shot a 69 during round one to lead the Scarlet and Brown and sit in third place after the first day of the championships.
Wes Bevins tied for fifth and shot one under par with a 71.
Sam Lyman is tied for 15th with a 75, while
Cooper Evans is tied for 23rd with a 77 and
Ben Scholes is tied for 29th with an 80.
St. Lawrence shot a combined 292 and after round one is tied for third place with the University of Rochester.
At the end of day one, RPI's Matt Buckley and Skidmore's Jack Walsh tied for first place with a 68, shooting four under par, while the Engineers held down the first-place team spot with a combined 287.
