Gabe Ward shot three over par to lead the St. Lawrence University men's golf team after round one of the Hamilton Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the par-72 Rome Country Club.

Ward, who tied for fourth place with Hamilton's Jake Hendelman, finished the day with four birdies on the back nine for a 75.

Jimmy King tied for 21st with an 80, with a birdie on seven and 15, while Ben DeBiase shot an 83 to tie for 32nd.

Ben Glass and Connor Murphy both played as individuals for the Saints.

After round one, Hamilton leads the team scoring, shooting 13 over for a 301. St. Lawrence sits in seventh with a 321.
