Maia Wahlquist finished second in the high jump to lead the St. Lawrence University women's track and field team on the final day of the Liberty League Championship meet on Saturday afternoon in Rochester, N.Y.
The sophomore cleared 1.53 meters and finished second at leagues for the second straight year. First-years
Kaylee Bertini and
Amelia Berthold also podiumed for the Saints. Bertini cleared 1.48 meters to tie for fourth, and Berthold cleared 1.43 meters for eighth place.
Three Saints also podiumed in the 3,000 meters.
Emma Palumbo lowered her personal best by 22 seconds to finish fourth in 10:16.64.
Katherine Sheehy was sixth in 10:27.37, and
Olivia Watson had a personal record by 19 seconds and crossed in 10:31.69 for eighth place.
The 4x400-meter relay team had their best time of the season and finished seventh.

Kristina Koes, and Bertini finished in 4:20.77.
"We had a strong day two and we out performed our rankings in several areas," said head coach
Kate Howard. "It's always the goal to be at our best during championship season, and that was certainly the case this weekend. Our podium finishes from Alli in the 800, and Emma, Katherine, and Olivia in the 3k were all impressive as they all doubled back from scoring in their events yesterday. Our young high jump crew of Maia, Kaylee, and Amelia are showing a bring future for us as they all landed on the podium as well. We have so much to be proud of and lots to be excited about for the remainder of indoor and on to the outdoor season."
The Saints finished the two-day meet in fifth place, beating Union, RIT, and Bard. Those who have qualified will next compete at the AARTFC Championships at the Armory in New York City.
