Kathleen Merchant won all four throwing events and
Isabel Caprood added wins in the 100-meter dash and 100 hurdles to lead the St. Lawrence University women's outdoor track and field team to a 72-63 win in a dual meet with Plattsburgh State on Saturday afternoon at Merrick-Pinkard Track & Field Complex.
Merchant posted a personal best in the hammer throw with a toss of 38.87 meters to win the event by 2.36 meters. She also won the discus (36.33), the javelin (39.05) and the shot put (11.75) to remain unbeaten in throwing events this spring.
Caprood won the 100 hurdles in 16.58 seconds for a 0.93-second margin of victory. She came back for the double in the 100, holding off teammate
Hayley Castagnier by 0.18 seconds with a time of 13.90.
Olivia Watson capped the day for the Saints with a win in her first collegiate 10K, finishing in 39:25.64 to move into first place on the Liberty League performance list and 15th on the NCAA Division III performance list.Â
