The St. Lawrence University women's and men's squash teams will be taking the court again for the first time in 615 days after missing the 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2019-20 season was a down year for both programs, and they are looking forward to vast improvements.
Both programs will play the season with a heavy heart and will be dedicating the season to
Enzo Corigliano '22, who tragically passed in December of last year. The squash program received a generous $10,000 matching gift from an anonymous Laurentian to refurbish Court #3, the court where Enzo played most of his matches, and name it in his memory.Â
The program's official dedication of Enzo's court will be the day before the first match on Friday, November 12
th at 5:30 p.m. There will be a limited number of people who will be able to attend the ceremony in person due to the size of the venue. For those who cannot make it to the Robie Squash Center, the live stream of the proceedings can be found
Here.
Women's Squash
On the women's side, the program will be making a strong push to be the top team in the Liberty League after posting just an 8-17 record in 2019-20. The team enters the year as the #20-ranked team in the CSA Squash rankings. William Smith is a step behind at #21 in the rankings, and fellow Liberty League members Vassar and Bard check in at #29 and #31 respectively.
"We are so looking forward to competing again and we have a great bunch of players, including two new starting-nine players for the team," said head coach
Scott Denne. "We have the chance to break into the top-20 for the first time in a very long time and we will be hoping to compete at the Liberty League championships this season"
The Scarlet and Brown will begin their season with a matchup against William Smith on Saturday, November 13
th at the Robie Squash Center beginning at 12:00 p.m. The Saints' schedule will also feature key matchups against Hamilton (12/5), Franklin & Marshall (1/16), and Dickinson (1/21).

Kelley is also a very experienced player, who won Liberty League Rookie of the year honors in her first-year season. Like her teammate, Kelley was also an All-Liberty League selection in her first two years on campus. Morey is a promising newcomer, who spent last season on campus training. She will look to make an immediate impact on this young roster this season.
