No. 25 Men's Squash Dominate Top of the Ladder in 6-3 Win at Conn. College

The Saints dominated the top of the ladder in the matchup as the No. 25 St. Lawrence University men's squash team took a 6-3 win over No. 29 Connecticut College on Friday night in New London, Conn.

St. Lawrence improved to 1-1 on the year with their first win of the season, while the Camels fell to 1-1.

Patrick Walford earned the first win of the day, taking on Noah Fish in the number four spot, coming away with the 11-9, 11-5, 11-4 win. The Camels evened up the matchup in the seventh spot, where Dmitry Stepanenko took on Hayden Okurowski. Stepanenko won the first and fourth games, but his opponent took the fifth to knot the match at one.

At number one, Emirhan Sen regained the Saints' lead in his match against Henry Pelletier. Sen won the first two games 11-8 before dropping a thrilling 17-15 game, forcing a fourth. The first-year took a 12-10 win to secure victory. Gavin Cassidy made it a 3-1 match shortly after, taking a 3-1 win in the sixth spot against Andrew Nemphos by the score of 11-6, 6-11, 11-9, 12-10.

The two teams traded the next two wins to make it a 4-2 match. Alexander Scott was playing in the number three spot where he took on Siddhant Rewari. After dropping the first game, Scott won the next three 11-2, 11-4, 11-7 for the win. Connecticut College took a win of their own in the eighth spot by the score of 3-0.

St. Lawrence clinched the win with their fifth win in the number five spot of the ladder. Harrison Callaway took on Thomas Overton III and secured the 3-0 win to lock in the match victory.

Connecticut College took their third win of the match in the number nine spot with another 3-0 win to make it a 5-3 match. Miguel Posada Villa was the final match of the night as he took on Adam Elkaliuoby in the two spot. The match went to five games, where Posada Villa took the win for the 6-3 team victory.

St. Lawrence will be back on the court tomorrow for a pair of matches against Vassar and Haverford on the campus of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie.
