The Saints won all of the top four matches, but the St. Lawrence University men's squash team fell 5-4 to Hamilton in the Semifinal round of the Summers Cup bracket on Day Two of the CSA Team Nationals in Philadelphia, Pa.
St. Lawrence fell to 8-11 with the loss, while Hamilton improved to 11-10.
At one,
Mina Wasseem lined up against Jacob Shulman and went up 2-0 with 11-4 and 11-6 wins before Shulman took the third. The first-year cleaned up the match with an 11-4 win to take the match. At two,
Miguel Posada Villa had much less stress, winning 11-6, 11-6, 11-9 against Atreyus Bhavsar.
In the third spot,
Emirhan Sen also earned a sweep, winning 11-7, 11-8, 11-1 over Tobey Suratt to make it 4-3 Hamilton with two matches to go.
Hamilton earned their fifth win of the day in the five-spot to win the match, but the Saints earned their fourth win of the day when
Patrick Walford beat Joey Applebaum 11-5, 11-8, 11-8 to make it a 5-4 final.
St. Lawrence will take on Dickinson College tomorrow at 12 p.m. in the 3-4 playoff. Â
