Lucy Hochschartner placed 14th in the women's 15-kilometer classic to lead the St. Lawrence University Nordic ski team on day two of the Middlebury College Carnival/NCAA Eastern Regionals and after this weekend's results, will make her first trip to the postseason at the 2020 NCAA Championships.
The rest of the Saints' squad wrapped up the EISA carnival season on Saturday afternoon at the Rikert Nordic Center on Saturday afternoon.
Off the mass start, Hochschartner skied the course in 48 minutes and 44.8 second to lead the Saints with a team-best 29 points.
Steph Nicols placed 38th in 52:06.1, while
Jackie Garso placed 40th in 52:58.5. Nicols and Garso combined for 26 points.
Beyerbach led the men's squad in 22nd with a final time of 55:40.3 to earn 21 points, while
Kai Richter posted a 39th-place finish in 57:49.8 and
Timothy Cunningham finished 41st in 57:56.0. Richter earned 12 points, while Cunningham picked up 11.
Both the men's and the women's squad placed ninth in their respective races. Prior to receiving scores from the Saints' Alpine team, St. Lawrence remained in 10th place, while UVM, Middlebury and Dartmouth held down the top three spots.
