St. Lawrence University forwards
Kayla Vespa and
Anna Segedi were recognized by ECAC Hockey for their performances last month as the conference's Player and Rookie of the Month on Tuesday.
Vespa led the league with 13 points and eight assists in just six games played in October. She also led the lead in power play assists (3), power play points (4), plus/minus rating (+9) and won 58.4% of her draws. She was named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week twice in October.
Segedi led the conference with six goals and was second behind Vespa with 11 points. She registered her first career hat trick in a 4-1 win over New Hampshire to start the month and earned ECAC Hockey Player of the Week honors after totaling five goals and adding two assists in the two-game series with New Hampshire.
The Saints, now 4-3-2 overall and 1-0-0 in ECAC Hockey play, will host third-ranked Cornell at SUNY Canton on Friday night at 7 p.m., then face Colgate in the same location on Saturday at 6 p.m.
