The St. Lawrence University varsity eight placed 31st in Men's Collegaite Eight at the prestigious Head of the Charles on Sunday afternoon in Cambridge, Mass.
In very windy conditions, the St. Lawrence crew was in a neck-and-neck battle with UMass-Lowell. The Saints pulled ahead near the finish line with a time of 17:54.115, but was assessed a 25-second penalty, dropping its position to 31st.
The boat featured rowers Jackson Leahy, Matthew Rostkowski, Jeremy Sylvain, Palchen Wangchuk, Tyler Frame, Bernardo Moreno, Dylan Hemsted and Casimir Misiewicz. The coxswain was Elisabeth Bartkus.
The Saints return to action October 29 at the Head of the Fish Regatta in Saratoga Springs.
