The Saints saw Jake David advance to the semifinals of the C singles draw, and three doubles pairings advance in their respective brackets to lead the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team on Day One of the St. Lawrence University Fall Classic on the Sammis Tennis Courts and in the Newell Field House.

In singles play, Jake David had a first-round bye in the C draw before being faced with Union's Reilly Fowles in the quarterfinals. David won the match 9-7 to advance to the semifinals tomorrow, where he will take on Ithaca's Manuel Galli.

In the A doubles draw, Charles Schepens and Bennett Stout won their opening match 8-6 over Ithaca's Galli and Alex Mazza, before being faced with Hobart's Tejus Ranadive and Dylan Ortiz. The St. Lawrence duo won the match 8-2 and advanced to tomorrow's semifinal round against Union's Arhan Gupta and Simon Philip.

The B draw of doubles play belonged to the Saints as they had all four pairings win their opening matches.

MJ Chaho and Willem Naughton defeated Union's Riichi Nagatake and Fowles 8-3, while Ryan Tingley and Jackson Murray defeated Hobart's Michael Gorgelis and Tyler Snyder 8-7 (7-3).

The two Scarlet and Brown tandems faced off in the semifinals, with Tingley and Murray advancing to tomorrow's final with an 8-4 win.

On the bottom half of the bracket, Preston Mcarthy and Justin Son defeated Union's Alain Uzelac and Daniel Saxe 8-7 (7-1) and were met in the semifinals by Sebastían Boada and Rowan Bepler, who won their match 8-7 (7-2) against Rochester's Liam Rieger and Andrew Balsamo.

Boada and Bepler got the best of McCarthy and Son in the semifinals, winning 8-2, and will take on Tingley and Murray for the B draw.

Day Two of the St. Lawrence University Fall Classic will roll on tomorrow from the Sammis Tennis Courts and the Newell Field House.
