Men’s Rowing Alum Cam DeLo ’21 Races at Henley Royal Regatta

St. Lawrence University men's rowing alum Cam Delo '21 is back on the water, as the team captain for the Potomac Boat Club based out of Washington D.C.

This week, the Potomac Boat Club is currently racing at the esteemed Henley Royal Regatta, which takes place on the River Thames in Henley-on-Thames, a historic market town in Oxfordshire, England.

The Royal Henley is a bracket-style single-elimination regatta. DeLo and the Potomac Boat Club's Thames Cup 8+ made it through qualifiers last Friday and on Tuesday their boat beat the London Rowing Club by about 15 seconds and three-boat lengths to advance to the next round.

Today they'll take on the Mercantile Rowing Club, an Australian club. Thursday is a rest day, then they'll race again Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for the finals.

DeLo is one of two Division III athletes in his club, all the others were Division I athletes.

"I have a lot of pride being one of the only D3 athletes representing the US right now," said DeLo. "I couldn't have done it without my time with SLU Men's Rowing."

You can follow DeLo and the Potomac Boat Club, who have three boats total in England on the LIVE STREAM and RESULTS pages.
