Following a perfect 4-0 weekend, first-year
Josh David was named the men's tennis Rookie of the Week for the Liberty League, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Josh, along with his brother
Jake David, had a strong weekend, going 2-0 in doubles action. Against Saint Michael's, they cruised to a 6-3 win over Garrett Brooker and Viktor Boban, then against SUNY Oneonta's Chris Chippari and William Schmid, won 6-1. Along with his 2-0 doubles mark, the first-year went 2-0 in singles play as well for a 4-0 weekend. David occupied the number one spot against Saint Michael's Julius van der Broek and won 4-6, 6--0, 6-2. Then on Sunday, he defeated SUNY Oneonta's Chris Chippari 6-1, 6-3.
St. Lawrence will be back on the court this weekend on the road as the team takes on Daemen University (N.Y.) on Saturday and Rochester on Sunday.
