Gosling Selected for 2026 Olympics with Team Canada

Former two-year St. Lawrence University women's hockey team captain, and IIHF World Champion with Team Canada, Julia Gosling '24 has been selected to Team Canada's 2026 Olympic team roster for the upcoming Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, as announced on Friday afternoon.

"What an accomplishment for Julia," said Chris Wells. "She has worked so hard for this moment and has been rewarded for her efforts. It was a joy having her at SLU and all the things she was able to accomplish as an individual and as the captain of our team."

Gosling was selected as the sixth overall pick in the first round of the 2024 PWHL draft by the Toronto Sceptres and was picked up by the Seattle Torrent for the 2025-26 season.

So far in 2025-26, she has played in nine games for the Torrent and has tallied four goals and four assists for eight points.

"This year in Seattle her level of play and improvement gave her an excellent opportunity for Hockey Canada to take notice! Everyone that comes in contact with her can't help but have a smile on their face. Wonderful news for a wonderful family!"

During her time with the Scarlet and Brown, Gosling played in 111 games, scoring 60 goals and adding 68 assists for 128 career points, including 16 power play goals and 16 game winners. In her senior campaign, she earned Second-Team All-ECAC honors and ranked second on the Saints' squad with 22 goals and 29 assists for 51 points in 2023-24. She finished the season ranked fourth nationally with nine power play goals, 11th nationally with 0.59 goals per game, 12th with 1.38 points per game, and 15th with 0.78 assists per game. Gosling's seven game winners in a season tied with five others in the record books, most recently Kennedy Marchment in 2016-17.
