Hume Named Alpine Skiing Assistant Coach

Helen Hume '23 has returned to St. Lawrence as the assistant coach for the men's and women's Alpine ski teams, as announced by head coach Willi Steinrotter on Monday.

"Looking forward to adding Helen to the coaching staff," said Steinrotter. "She was a positive student-athlete during her years here and looking forward to her continuing to bring that positivity to our program."

Hume was a four-year member of the Alpine team during her time with the Saints, serves as the team representative for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and was ranked top 15 in the Canadian National Ranking among slalom skiers born in 1999 in 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025.

She was also ranked top 15 in Canadian downhill skiers in 2019 and was a member of the Quebec Provincial Ski team for two years.

Hume also worked as an intern with HP Urban Inc. in Ottawa, Ontario and was a member of the Crown Royalties Investment Club and team leader for the 2021 Federal Reserve Challenge as an undergrad at SLU. She also founded and served as the President of Women in Economics.

Hume graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Economics-French and began working on her Master of Arts in Leadership in January of 2024.
