The St. Lawrence University women's squash team, which orchestrated an exciting comeback to win last year's Liberty League Championship, will look to win their sixth title in program history in 2025-26.
The Scarlet and Brown, who were ranked No. 22 in the preseason CSA Squash poll, finished last season at 7-8 and claimed their fifth Liberty League Title. Â
The ladder will be largely intact after graduating just one senior from last year's team.
"With the addition of four new players to last year's Championship team, this year's team is stronger and deeper than it has been for many years," said head coach
David Morrish. "The squad will be looking to repeat their Liberty League success and capture their first National Title in the CSA Nationals."
The Scarlet and Brown will be led by their number one in
Angel Otshabeng, who was named Liberty League Rookie of the Year, Liberty League Tournament Most Outstanding Player, and a First-Team all-league selection in a tremendous first year in Canton.
She will be joined by fellow first-teamer
Laura Franz, as well as Second-Team selections
Mariam Dodd and
Madeleine Martin.
Along with those four, the Saints return Sophomores
Azaa Regmi and
Khissaiyia Spencer, along with seniors
Emma Kahle,
Ksenia Merkulova, and
Lilly Ritchie. Â
Head coach
David Morrish and the Saints welcome four new players to the fold in 2025-26 in first-years,
Eboni Atherley,
Kamya C. Franklin,
Katherine Callaway, and
Kelis Givens, who will compete for a spot in the order. Â
Following the match against Chatham, the Saints will take on Connecticut College on the road on November 21, then will play two matches in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., on November 22, taking on Liberty League foes Vassar and Haverford at Vassar.
Their Fall schedule ends on December 6, when the team heads to Washington, D.C. to take on Georgetown.
Upon returning from the holiday break, the Saints will host Franklin & Marshall in their first home match of the season before taking part in the CSA Individual Nationals on January 23
rd.
Matches against Colby, Bowdoin, Amherst, Dickinson, and Hamilton will serve as a runway for the Liberty League Tournament, which will be held at the Robie Squash Center on February 14-15.
The season will wind down with a pair of home matches against William Smith and Bates before the team finishes the campaign on the weekend of February 26 at the CSA Team Nationals in Philadelphia, Pa.
