Malsang Advances to Semifinals of Molloy East to Pace Squash at CSA Individual Nationals

Grégory Malsang picked up a win in the quarterfinals of the Molloy East to pace the St. Lawrence University women's and men's squash team at the CSA Individual Nationals at Open Squash in New York, N.Y.

The first-year, who was making his debut in the Individual Nationals took on Bates' Alec Spiro and advanced with relative ease sweeping the match 11-6, 11-2, 11-6. Malsang will advance to the semifinals tomorrow to take on Trinity's Huzaifa Ibrahim at 9:50 a.m.

On the women's side, Angel Otshabeng, who was also making her debut, took on Georgetown's Rachel Mashek in the quarterfinal round of the Holleran West bracket. The first-year battled hard but fell 11-4, 11-8,11-7. Otshabeng fell to the consolation bracket where she withdrew.

In the men's Pool Trophy Draw, Lewis Anderson took on Penn's Abdelsalam to open his fourth Individual Nationals. After dropping the first game 11-8, the senior took the second game 11-6 to tie it at one apiece. However, Anderson would fall in the next two games 11-5, and 11-6 to send him to the consolation where he would default and end his day.
