The No. 23 St. Lawrence University women's squash team hosted their first match at home, but they fell short in the homecoming losing 8-0 to No. 18 Bowdoin on Monday morning at the Robie Squash Center.
The Saints fell to 2-2 on the year, while Bowdoin improved to 6-1. Â
At number one,
Angel Otshabeng took on Emma Kate Watts-Roy and took a 2-0 lead with 11-5 and 11-6 wins. In the third game, Watts-Roy took the win and the match as Otshabeng retired and couldn't continue.
Madeleine Martin occupied the third spot. After losing the opening game, she fought back with a 12-10 win to even the match. Her opposition settled in, however, to take the match 3-1.
Khissaiyia Spencer took her first game 12-10 against Amelie Matuch at number six but fell in the next three for the 3-1 loss.
Next up on the Saints' schedule is the CSA Individual Nationals which will take place January 24-28 in New York, N.Y.
