The Saints earned two wins at the top of the lineup, but the No. 23 St. Lawrence University women's squash team would suffer their first loss of the season falling to No. 19 Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon in Middletown, Conn.
St. Lawrence fell to 2-1 with the loss, while Wesleyan improved to 6-1.
Angel Otshabeng took on Mira Bakshi in the number one spot and won the match with an 11-5, 11-3, 11-7 sweep.
At two,
Meg Pruett won her opening game against Avika Pande but fell in the second of the match. The senior bounced back with 11-8, 11-9 wins to take the match.
Madeleine Martin had a hard-fought loss at number three in her match against Aanya Anand. Martin went down 2-0 early and stormed back with 11-9 and 12-10 wins. Her opposition would take the final game and the match.
The Scarlet and Brown will be back on court on Monday at 10 a.m. when the team hosts Bowdoin at the Robie Squash Center.
