The No. 22 St. Lawrence University men's squash team was dominant up and down the lineup as the team defeated Brown University 9-0 on Friday night in Providence, R.I.
The Saints improved to 2-4 with their second straight win.
The top three spots for St. Lawrence provided the team with 3-0 wins in dominant fashion.
Grégory Malsang won his matchup at number one against Harrison Yang 11-8, 11-7, 11-5, while
Oliver Bikhazi-Green found himself in a closer matchup with Dawson Lin. The senior took 11-5, and 12-10 wins into the third game where Lin had to retire with the score at 8-8. At three,
Patrick Walford took on Tim Cassidy and won 11-4, 11-4, 15-13.
The five, six, and seven spots also produced 3-0 results with
Hassan Madkour (11-8, 11-8, 11-4),
Miguel Posada Villa (11-4, 11-6, 11-6), and
Harry Robson (11-5, 11-3, 11-5) claiming the wins respectfully.
Harrison Callaway (11-8, 8-11, 11-8, 11-9),
Gavin Cassidy (13-11, 8-11, 11-6, 11-8), and
Trey Denman (11-9, 6-11, 11-9, 11-8) had closer matches winning 3-1 in the four, eight, and nine spots respectfully but locked down their matches for the 9-0 win.
Henry Worden played an exhibition match at ten against Leon Zhou winning 11-7, 11-9, 11-9.
The Saints will be back in action tomorrow when the team heads to Middletown, Connecticut to take on Wesleyan University in a 12:30 p.m. match.
