The St. Lawrence University men's tennis team will open their 2024-25 schedule this Saturday on the Sammis Tennis Courts as the team hosts the SLU Fall Classic.

Last season, under the guidance of head coach Tavis Rieger, the Saints finished 8-11 with a 4-4 Liberty League mark.

The team earned the fourth seed in the conference playoffs but came up short falling 5-2 to Skidmore in the opening round.

The Scarlet and Brown have several familiar faces in the lineup, including seniors Edvin Strandberg, John Hill-Edgar, Broderick Pinto, and juniors Aidan Baracao and Will de Chabert. MJ Chaho and Jake David also returned for their sophomore season in Canton.

The Saints will welcome eight newcomers to the fold including graduate student Ezenna Emuka. First-years for the Saints include Sebastián Boada, Sonny Mo, Willem Naughton, Charles Schepens, Ryan Tingley, Armaan Walia, and Oliver Walker.

Strandberg and Hill-Edgar each had a team-leading nine singles wins a season ago. The tandem also led the team with a 12-6 doubles mark, all in dual match season. Pinto went 10-8 last year alongside Adam Heilbronner '24 but will be with a new doubles partner for the upcoming campaign.

Following the St. Lawrence University Fall Classic, the Saints will head to the Union Invitational next weekend in their final tune-up for the ITA Northeast Regionals at Drew University starting September 26.
