Ben Scholes and
Jimmy King both shot a 77 to lead the St. Lawrence University men's golf team on day one of the highly competitive Duke Nelson Invitational, hosted by Middlebury on Saturday afternoon at the par-71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course.
Shooting a 77 put Scholes and King in a tie for 38th place with 10 other golfers after round one.
Sam Lyman shot an 81 to tie for 77th, while
Gabe Ward shot an 82 to tie for 91st and Ben DiBiase shot an 88 to tie for 109th out of a field of 120 golfers.
St. Lawrence combined to shoot a 317 and ended day one in a tie for 14th place with Wesleyan. Hartford sits in first with a 298, while Hamilton's Ramon Aroca Gonzalez
The Saints will tee off for round two of the invitational, tomorrow, September 15.
