Box Score The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team won two of their three doubles matches, and three of the six singles matches en route to a 4-3 win over Daemen University on Saturday evening in Amherst, N.Y.
The Saints improved to 4-1 on the season with the win, while the Wildcats fell to 6-10.
In doubles play,
Molly Jespersen teamed up with
Yvette Karera in the number one spot and took on Daemen's Frida Rubio and Kitsa Scime winning 6-1. St. Lawrence claimed the doubles point in the match at number two when
Elena Styliades and
Abigail Sicuranza defeated Emily Jablonski and Arianna Lysiak 6-2.
In singles, Jespersen doubled up in the win category winning 6-3, 6-2 at number one over Rubio. At five, senior
Meredith Macey came up with a big win easily defeating Jablonski 6-1, 6-1. Sicuranza took her second win of the day at number six 6-0, 6-1 to take the match at 4-3.
The Scarlet and Brown will now be without matches until Monday, March 18 when the team heads to Orlando, Fla. to take on Smith in the first of six matches down south.
