CSA Individual Nationals Day One Recap; Anderson Advances to Semifinals of Molloy North

The St. Lawrence University men's and women's squash teams both had participants in the CSA Individual Nationals today with Lewis Anderson advancing to the Semifinal of the Molloy North bracket and Anannya Morey competing in the Holleran West bracket.  

Anderson, with his two wins on the day, reached 61 for his career tying him for second place in the record books alongside Belal Nawar '20. The junior is just one win away from tying Moustafa Bayoumy '18 for the most wins in program history. Anderson is also second all-time in career winning percentage at 61-7 (89.7%), just shy of Amr Khalifa '16 46-5 (90.2%).

Lewis Anderson – Molloy North – 1st seed

Anderson, who came into the day as the number one seed in the bracket, took on Noah Tunis of Haverford in the Round of 16 and dominated to the tune of 11-4, 11-3, 11-8. Later in the day in the Quarterfinal round, the junior took on Kerwin Teh and won another convincing match 11-5, 12-10, 11-5.

With the win, Anderson moves on to the Semifinals where he will take on Princeton's Alastair Cho tomorrow at 10:50 a.m. on Court 8 for a spot in the bracket's Final on Sunday.

Anannya Morey – Holleran West

Morey drew Cornell's Alysa Ali in the Round of 16 of the Holleran West bracket and despite a good effort would fall to the Consolation bracket with a, 11-4, 11-2, 11-6 loss.

In the Quarterfinals of the Consolation, the senior drew Williams' Melanie Wang. Wang would take the first game 11-4, and would go to the brink winning 14-12 in the second game before sweeping with an 11-6 win to move on ending Morey's weekend.
