In her first appearance of 2024,
Alli Sibold kicked off her indoor track and field season by etching her name in more history books after another strong performance. This one came in the mile run at Utica University's Winter opener, when Sibold took first in the event with a time of 4:51.91.
The St. Lawrence University women's track and field team finished 10
th overall in the event, with host Utica grabbing the top ranking at the meet.

Kate Howard says Sibold's performance was a highlight. "These types of performances really don't come very often," she said.
Sibold's time broke a facility record at Utica's Todd and Jen Hutton Sports and Recreation Center, set a Saints program record which was previously held by Cassia Hametime since 2015 (4:55.50), and is the best mark in the NCAA's DIII.
The Saints also received good performances in other distance races, notably from
Emma Palumbo. Her time of 10:40.75 in the women's 3000 meter was the fifth best in the field, just over 37 seconds behind the winner of the event.
Cameran Stone won her heat in the 1000 meter, topping nine others with a time of 3:19.04 and finishing seventh overall in the event when combine with times from the second heat. The Saints also received a seventh overall finish from Quinn Sirgany in the women's 800 meter.
In the field, team captain
Emily Boswell came up with a good result in the shot put, finishing seventh overall after launching one 10.51 on her fifth out of six attempts.
The Saints now head to Vermont next Saturday for a meet at Middlebury College on Jan. 20 before heading home for their own invitational the following weekend.
