Box Score The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team finished the St. Lawrence University Invitational with a bang as the team went 8-0 in singles and 5-0 in doubles on Sunday at the Sammis Tennis Courts and the Newell Field House.
Angelica Aksdal-Jansen and Molly Jespersen got the day started with 8-0, and 8-2 wins respectively against Geneseo's Rava and RIT's Clinard. Ariane Karera and Elena Styliades both would take 8-1 wins over RIT's Murray and Geneseo's Kujawa respectively, while Meredith Macey and Sarah Oldland both earned 8-0 sweeps in their matches. Maya Stepic and Alexandra Fuller would cap up the 8-0 singles record with 8-2 and 8-3 wins against RIT's Wood and Finchum.
The Scarlet and Brown continued to roll in the doubles round. The duo of Jespersen and Aksdal-Jansen capped off their weekend against RIT's Drozd and Murray with an 8-1 win. Styliades and Abigail Sicuranza would win their third doubles match of the weekend against Rockwood and Kujawa 8-2. Â
The tandem of Fuller and Oldland took on Geneseo's DeRiso and Wutz taking an emphatic 8-1 win, while Ellie Fritz and Karera teamed up to take down Galkiewicz and Wood 8-2. In the final match of the day, Macey and Stepic took on Mills and Finchum and took the 8-4 to cap off the perfect day.
The Saints will look to keep rolling next weekend as the team heads to Geneva, N.Y. next weekend for the ITA Northeast Regionals at the campus of William Smith. The ITA's will begin Saturday, September 23, and run through the 25th.
