Adam Heilbronner advanced to the A singles and doubles draw Semifinals to lead the St. Lawrence University on the first day of the Dutchmen Invitational on the campus of Union College.
In the A singles draw, Heilbronner took an opening round 6-2, 6-4 win over Union's Daniel Saxe to advance to the Quarterfinals where he met Union's Dimitris Binopoulos. In the Quarterfinals, the senior would advance to the Semifinals with a 6-1, 6-7(4), (10-5) victory. Heilbronner will take on Hamilton's Connor Griff tomorrow morning with a spot in the flight final on the line.
In the B draw, the Scarlet and Brown earned a pair of first round wins. Jacob David took a win in the opening round 6-2, 6-2 against Union's Jonathan Tsipenyuk to advance to the Quarterfinals against Union's Ian Schunk. David's run would stop there with a loss to the top-seeded Schunk.

Aidan Baracao also earned a first-round win taking on Union's Ryan Dagan. After dropping the first set 6-2, Baracao stormed back to take the next two sets 6-1, and 10-6 to advance. The sophomore took on Union's Shreyas Kode in the Quarterfinals where he would fall 6-3, 6-4.
In the doubles draw, the duo Heilbronner and
Ben Moolman found success on the way to the Semifinals. In the opening round, the tandem took an 8-4 win over Union's Kurtik Appadoo and Ryan Dagan to advance. In the Quarterfinals against Dutchmen duo Daniel Saxe and Jonathan Tsipenyuk, the Scarlet and brown duo took an 8-2 to advance to the next round. The two will take on Hamilton's Charlie Sternberg and Ignatio Tran tomorrow in the Semifinals in an attempt to advance to the final.
Baracao and
John Hill-Edgar also earned a win in the doubles flight as they claimed an 8-3 victory over Union's Kode and Khai Ton. They would then take on top-seeded Binopoulos and Ben Jacobs in the Quarterfinals and took an 8-5 loss.
St. Lawrence will be back in action tomorrow morning for day two of the Dutchmen Invitational.
