The St. Lawrence University women's soccer team will open the 2023 campaign on Friday, September 1, when the team hosts Nazareth University in the North Country Classic. The Scarlet and Brown will wrap up their opening weekend with another matchup on Saturday against DeSales University as part of the Classic.
"At the end of last season, the focus for us was to build real relationships and create a deeper level of trust across the board," said head coach
Sinead McSharry "I've been really proud of how well this group has reconfigured its view on toughness and resiliency, one of which is a value of ours. We have a clear vision and mission, and we have a passionate group of women ready to lead the way."
A season ago, the Saints were dominant defensively giving up just 1.07 goals per game during the season as
Keely Snode provided six solo shutouts and combined with
Darcie McDonough for two combined clean sheets in the St. Lawrence woodwork.
The Scarlet and Brown outscored their opponents in 2022, but not by much at a 20-16 mark. The offensive group was a young one led by

Among the returning starters is Snode, who was named to the All-Liberty League Honorable Mention team, played over 1258 minutes in net for the Scarlet and Brown and had a 1.00 goals against average to go along with a .825 save percentage and a 5-6-3 record.
On the defensive end, along with Snode, Durkin, Cence, and Bridge, the Saints return Burns,
Kylie Burnett,
Amelia Nicholas,
Natalie Schock, and McDonough.
Offensively, along with Donahue and King-Thurber, The Scarlet and Brown bring back forwards,
