Daniel George have been selected by their teammates, as captains of the 2023 St. Lawrence University football team.
"To be voted a captain by you peers here at St. Lawrence is earned," said head coach
Dan Puckhaber. "All of these individuals see this as quite an honor and are looking forward to leading their team on and off the field in 2023 and I'm looking forward to their expanded role this upcoming football season."
Dockray, a member of St. Lawrence's offensive line, was named All-Liberty League Honorable Mention last season. He helped hold opponents to an average of 4.9 yards per play on the season and helped the Saints convert on 35.43 percent of third-down opportunities.
Ranking ninth in the Liberty League on defense in 2022, Munn finished with 53 tackles on the season, including 16 solos and 37 assists. He recorded three and a half tackles for the loss of 17 yards, two sacks for the loss of 14 and one forced fumble.
Lawther, who served as a captain last season as a sophomore, played in all 10 games in 2022. He passed 141-for-244 for a season total of 1,472 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also helped the Scarlet and Brown's ground game rushing 498 yards on 125 attempts and scoring five touchdowns. His passing put him third in the league standings, while his rushing efforts landed 12th.
George recorded a team-best 64 tackles on the season (32 solo, 32 assists) and finished the season with two and a half sacks for the loss of six yards, five pass breakups and two interceptions. One of his picks included a 35-yard interception to cap the scoring and seal the win 31-7 over Buffalo State last year.
St. Lawrence will travel to Endicott to open the 2023 season on September 2 at 12 p.m.
