Last Thursday night, the Saints received a bye for their weekly NACE Smash Bros. match up, so they decided to invite the Kangaroos of SUNY Canton's Smash team for a friendly exhibition match in the Esports Lab. This was the very first time another school had come to St. Lawrence's campus in person to play Esports in the St. Lawrence Esports Lab since it had been built. Both teams fought very hard in an incredibly close match, but in the end, the Kangaroos walked away with a 1-2 victory.

In the first round, the Saints took an early lead with Henry "HennyJ" Julca, using Ness, defeating the first player for the Kangaroos, playing as Banjo-Kazooie. Banjo was able to take two stocks from HennyJ, but could only manage to put on 39% damage before losing his last one. After that, Yoshi came in for the Kangaroos and quickly took HennyJ's last stock. Duncan "orchard" Stuard then came in with Duck Hunt, and the fight was close. Once again, the Saints managed to win with just one stock remaining. Then the Kangaroo's captain switched in playing as Link. This is where the Saints began to struggle. Link quickly took out orchard, and he then defeated Alex "legmer" Holland while only losing one of his three stocks. Last, Andrew "andy" Cichetti came in with Pyra/Mythra, but even he could take only one stock from Link before being knocked out.

In game two, the Saints switched the lineup and brought in legmer, playing as Chrom hoping to get bigger early lead. The Kangaroos also changed their lineup to start with a different player using Diddy Kong. Legmer took all three of Diddy's stocks while just losing one of his own. He then faced the same player who previously played Yoshi, switching to Joker. Being a former Joker player himself, legmer knew the match up well and was able to defeat Joker while just losing one stock of his own. Legmer was even able to take one more stock from SUNY Canton's next player, playing as Olimar, giving the Saints the lead they were looking for. Andy then stepped in with King K. Rool. Olimar was able to take two stocks from andy, but a well-timed dash attack with King K. Rool sent Olimar flying into the blast zone. The Kangroos Captain then switched his character to Joker, but andy was able to take a stock from him. This lead was all orchard needed to finish the job with Duck Hunt to bring the Saints to Game Three.

Game Three started strong for the Saints. Orchard came in first, with Ness, and was able to run through the first player for the Kangaroos and take two stocks off the second. Andy then used King K. Rool to dispatch the last stock of their second leg and took two stocks from their third, who played as Pirahna Plant. HennyJ came in with Ness to defeat Pirahna Plant. At this point, the Saints had a three-stock lead over the Kangaroos who were down to only their captain. The Kangaroo's captain deployed Link once again, and he was able to defeat HennyJ while only losing one stock. Legmer then came in with Chrom, and attempted to win it all for the Saints, but Link read all his moves well and countered effectively. Legmer brought Link down to his last life, but it was on that last life that Link came alive and used a combination of his boomerang and up smash to defeat legmer and the Saints. In the end, a good time was had by all. The Saints look forward to meeting the Kangaroos on their campus for the next game.
