Saints Smash Bros. Fall to UAlbany in ECAC
After coming off an in person win against SUNY Canton the week before, the Smashing Saints fell to the UAlbany Great Danes 0-2 last Monday bringing their overall season record to 3-3. The Saints are still in the hunt for one more win in order to make ECAC playoffs.
This week the Saints struggled against another Yoshi, who has been the biggest stock taker for the Smash team since the start of the season. Though the Saints were able to eventually beat the Yoshi and the Dark Pit that followed, the Great Danes anchor was playing Isabelle, which is an unfamiliar sight to most Smash fans. Isabell was able to defeat Henry "HennyJ" Julca and bring the Saints to switch strategy for game two.
The Great Danes also pulled a change up and exchanged Yoshi for Luigi, who had been another character the Saints had struggled with. Between Luigi and Isabelle, the Saints lost most of their stocks. Then an Inkling player came off the bench for the Great Danes to end the match. UAlbany remains undefeated in the ECAC, but one more win for the Saints in their next two matches will get them into the playoffs.

Saints Rocket League Wins NACE Loses ECAC
This week appeared to be a repeat of last week's events for the Saints Rocket League team. In NACE, they played the RIT Tigers for the second week in a row. This time, they defeated them with a score of 3-0. However, they lost later in the week 1-4 to the King University Tornadoes.
In the ECAC match against King University, it was Tanner "Gubbins" Bessette who ended up finding the goal the most with five goals total over four games. For the second week in a row, the Saints put up another high scoring game, but they found it difficult to shore up the defense in such a fast-paced game. The Tornadoes were able to find the net even more. Even though the Saints were able to take one game from them in the best of seven series, it was not enough. The loss puts the Saints ECAC record at 1-5.
The top scorer for the NACE match was John "Terx" Glover who was able to find the goal five times in his game against the Tigers. Terx found the net two times in both the first and though all three players got a goal in the second round, Terx got the winning goal. . Even though the Tigers took the Saints to an extra game, it was John "Terx" Glover who put the match away for the Saints scoring two quick goals in what was to be the final game of the match. The win puts the Saints NACE record at 4-1. Next week, the Saints Rocket League has a double header play-in for a playoff seed. They are eager to win both to make their first ever NACE playoff run.

League of Legends Defeats St. John's University
The Saints League of Legends team bounced back after their loss to UDelaware last week to get a stunning 2-0 against the St. John's University Thunderbirds last Friday night.
The Saints came out swinging in the first game with Zijian "Rumania" Zhang playing as Graves in the jungle. Rumania first built the Umbral Glaive on Graves to maintain a very healthy amount of vision control. St. John's was left in the dark for most of the game, and even though they got the first two dragons, the Saints focused on Rift Heralds and Baron Nashor to effectively siege their base. With the base pushed in, Rumania slayed three Wind Dragons in a row, and did not die a single time in that game which gave the rest of the team a huge advantage and a quick Game One Win.
The second game was a bit more difficult for the Saints since the Thunderbirds banned Graves from being used. They also effectively counter picked Minh "elew" Nguyen's pick of Zed by choosing Cassiopeia in the mid lane and large tanks like Dr. Mundo and Trundle for the Top and Jungle positions. Elew had difficulty farming for the early portions of the game as did Rumania in the Jungle. The Saints bot lane did end up getting fed though but found themselves at a level deficit between the top and middle lanes. The Thunderbird's jungler, playing as Trundle, was able to claim three dragons in a row unanswered. Rumania pulled a steal on one Rift Herald, but could not use it to push effectively. At about thirty minutes in, the Thunderbirds took the Baron Buff and began to siege the Saints side of the base. However, the Thunderbirds' mid laner made a positioning error and the Saints capitalized with a pick. The Saints then knocked out the Thunderbirds' top laner and support. The Saints used this momentum to push up the middle lane and end the game in a stunning come from behind win. This win brings the Saints current season record to 4-2.
