Box Score 2 The St. Lawrence University volleyball team won both matches over Utica and Elmira to finish the weekend 2-1 at the Oswego State Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Oswego, New York.
"We weren't always our sharpest but the team found ways to win today," head coach
Shelly Roiger said. "It was nice to get everyone some rotations today and I thought everyone did a nice job of being mentally and physically ready to contribute to the team's success."
Match 1 vs. Utica College (St. Lawrence 3, Utica 1)
The Saints topped the Pioneers 4-1 by scores of 25-15, 21-25, 25-21 and 25-17 in their first match of the day at Oswego.
Senior
Natalie Piper led in kills (14) and aces (6). Her 6 aces put her over the century mark for career aces.
Annika Kreppein added 12 kills, and libero
Reagan Collier-Hogan had a team high 16 digs.
Match 2 vs. Elmira (St. Lawrence 3, Elmira 0)
In the second match of the day the Saints swept the Eagles, once again by three sets and scores of 25-15, 25-15, and 25-22.
Piper had ten kills and
Jada Masiclat had seven to lead the Saints.
Dorian Funk led the team with a career high 20 assists.
Kreppein and Piper earned spots on the All-Tournament team.
