The St. Lawrence men's tennis team combined for 14 wins between singles and doubles on Saturday and will make five semifinal appearances tomorrow as the Saints opened the 2021-22 season at the St. Lawrence University Fall Classic on Saturday. 

In "C" Flight singles, the Saints will have a pair of first-years in the semifinals after Broderick Pinto and Edvin Strandberg advanced in their quarterfinal matches. Pinto swept his first-round matchup 8-0 against Kenneth Lee of Rochester before defeating Ben Jacobs of Union 8-3 in the quarterfinals. Strandberg defeated Thomas McGuire of Union 8-1 in the first-round and beat Mark Apsey of Hamilton 8-6. Pinto and Strandberg will have a chance to play for the "C" Flight finals against one another if they both advance in their matchups against Nick Grosso and Hyat Oyer of Hobart respectively.

In the "B" Flight draw back, Adam Heilbronner, and Cole Hamilton avenged first-round losses and will look to win their semifinal matchups tomorrow when play resumes. Heilbronner won his matchup against Artem Khaybullin of Ithaca 8-3, while Hamilton won his match 8-3 against Ian Schunk of Ithaca. Heilbronner will take on Mark Zolotukhin of Rochester, while Hamilton will face Austin Gregory of Union in the semifinal.

After losing in the first round of the "B" Flight doubles, Shepard Handy Shutkin, and Kenden Aguilera advanced to tomorrow's semifinal of the "B" doubles drawback. The duo defeated Temi George and Khai Ton 8-3 in the quarterfinal to advance. They will take on Bailey McAtee and McGuire of Union.

In "D" Flight singles, seniors Cameron Pankau, Quinn Bermingham, and first-year Aguilera all won their first-round matchup, but each fell in the quarterfinals.

In "A" Flight doubles, the Saints had two pairings advance to the quarterfinal round. In the first-round, Heilbronner and Hamilton beat Brennan Bull and Christian Berko of RIT 8-6 while Nico Haet and Nathan Turtledove paired up to beat Ionnis Binopoullos and Jacobs of Union 8-6. However, both pairing lost their quarterfinals matchups.

In "B" Flight doubles, Bermingham and Strandberg won their first-round matchup 8-0 over Thomas McGuire of Union, but fell 8-3 to Guthrie Speers and Oyer of Hobart.
