Junior midfielder
Marvin Sibanda was named Liberty League Player of the Year and was awarded First-Team All-Liberty League honors, as announced by the league on Tuesday morning.
Senior captains
Robert Reynolds and
Quinn Houseman were awarded Second-Team All-Liberty League honors at the midfield and defense positions, respectively. The Scarlet and Brown also had a trio of players earn Honorable Mention honors in
Michael McDougald,
Max Mogul, and
Ben Woelfinger.
Sibanda led the Saints and the conference in scoring with 25 points and 11 goals on the year, despite missing time early in the year. The junior has six more points than Reynolds, who is second among the league with 19 points, and four goals ahead of Finn Weber and Josh Gaudiano, who each had seven.
Sibanda became the first Saints player since Sam DeMello in 2013 to reach ten goals in a season. The feat has now been reached 11 times in the program's history, and Sibanda becomes the ninth separate player to tally 10 or more in a season. The midfielder scored his 11th goal of the season in the Liberty League Championship game and moved into a tie with Eric Harms '02 in eighth place for goals in a season.
Reynolds matched his career high with five goals this season, but took a giant leap forward as a play maker tallying nine assists on the season. The senior is the eighth player in program history to collect nine or more assists in a season, and is the first player to do so since Mark Provost '15, who accomplished the feat in 2013. Reynolds is now in a five-way tie in the Saints record books for fifth place with nine assists in a season.
Houseman played in all 19 games this season for the Scarlet and Brown, backstopping the backline. The captain was a steadying presence for the entire team, and for the goalkeeper behind him as he terminated numerous plays before they could turn into chances against.
