In a strong game of defense on both sides of the ball, the 17th-ranked Ithaca Bombers shutout the St. Lawrence University football team 17-0 on Saturday afternoon at Leckonby Stadium, following a delayed start due to lightning.
St. Lawrence quarterback
Tyler Grochot was 20-for-39 passing for 168 yards.
Sean McCormack led the Saints' reception game with four catches for 63 yards, while
Daniel Greene made four catches for 36 yards.
Max Gilbert led the Saints' defense with a team-best nine tackles and one interception, while
Grady Harrington recorded eight and
Devin Kelley finished with seven.

Caleb Null and
Ryan Reinke all finished with six.
Ithaca opened scoring with a five-yard run from Donte Garcia for the Bombers' first touchdown. Nicholas Bahamonde's kick was good for the 7-0 lead.
After a deadlocked second quarter, the Bombers maintained the seven-point advantage at halftime.
The Saints defense forced the Bombers to take a field goal with 8:43 to play in the third. Once again, Bahamonde's kick was good for the 10-0 lead.
St. Lawrence made a huge stop with just over 11 minutes to play in the fourth, taking over on down's to prevent another Ithaca touchdown.
However, the Bombers did tack on one more, as Michael Anderson caught a 24-yard pass from Ithaca quarterback AJ Wingfield in the end zone. Bahamonde's third kick was good for the final score, 17-0.
Wingfield was 22-for-36 passing for 233 yards, while Jake Williams rushed for 63 yards on 14 attempts and Anderson led the reception game with seven catches for a team-best 93 yards.
Anthony Robinson, Isaac Hadac and Akap Takor each recorded four tackles, while Hadac tallied two sacks.
Ithaca held a 37:00-23:00 advantage in time of possession, held a 21-8 lead in first downs and converted on six of 16 third down conversions.
St. Lawrence fell to 3-3 overall and 0-2 in Liberty League play, while Ithaca remains undefeated at 6-0 and 3-0, respectively.
The Saints hit the road to face the Hobart Statesman on Saturday, October 23. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
