The St. Lawrence University Overwatch team has qualified for the ECAC Overwatch Fall 2020 playoffs and will face Wayne State University in a best-of-five first-round matchup on Saturday at noon.

A live stream of the match will be available on the University's Twitch channel.

The Saints, who earned the No. 11 seed with a 4-2 record in ECAC matches, defeated 22nd-seeded Wayne State 3-0 during the regular season. The winner of the match will advance to the round of 16 to face the winner of No. 6 Johnson & Wales and No. 27 Sacred Heart at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

In St. Lawrence's first year of varsity esports, the Overwatch team finished the regular season with a 10-6 overall record. The Saints finished in fifth place in the National Association of Collegiate Esports Overwatch Fall Cup Group E standings, just one spot away from qualifying for the playoffs in that league, but tied for fifth place in the ECAC Overwatch Fall 2020 standings. Thirty-one teams qualified for the postseason in the ECAC, with top-seeded earning the lone bye in the first round of the tournament.
