The St. Lawrence University Overwatch team rebounded from a loss on Wednesday, posting a 3-0 win over McMurry University in a National Association of Collegiate Esports match on Thursday night.
With the win, the Saints improved to 9-5 on the season and 6-3 in NACE play.
Jason Angelos (neonJason) earned all three Play of the Game honors.
The first point was contested on the Busan control point map. The Saints quickly claimed the both points in the contest by scores of 100-0.
St. Lawrence took a 2-0 lead, as the second challenge opened on the Junkertown payload map. With the Saints on defense to start, the Scarlet and Brown held the War Hawks to just 47.21m. However, McMurry's defense was no match for the Saints, who claimed the second point in just under a minute and a half.
The final point of the night was contested on the King's Row hybrid map. The Saints held a commanding stance, shutting down four ultimate's, not allowing the War Hawks to budge on attack. Switching roles, the Saints quickly claimed the point to sweep the match 3-0.
"The team was absolutely on top of their game tonight and playing to win," said saints' Overwatch coach Kyle Jicha. "Now we have our sights set on Old Dominion tomorrow to secure our place in the playoffs. No matter how things turn out, I'm immensely proud of our team."
The Saints, who hope to clinch a NACE playoff spot, will close out their regular season NACE schedule against Old Dominion University tomorrow night at 8 p.m.
