As a goaltender for the St. Lawrence University women's hockey team over the last four years,
Grace Harrison '19 made ECAC Hockey opponents shake their heads when leaving Appleton Arena, wondering how the Auckland, New Zealand, native, managed to stop all the shots they threw her way.
This week, Harrison has been making national team players from around the world do the same at the IIHF World Championships in Romania.
Harrison has played in three games for New Zealand this week, posting a 1.73 goals against average and a .938 save percentage. She is 2-0 for the Ice Fernz, including a 30-save performance in a 2-1 win over Iceland.
New Zealand is 3-1-0-0 in the "B" division; the Ice Fernz fell to Chinese Taipei 3-0 in their first game of the tournament, then posted wins over Iceland, Turkey (4-2) and Romania (7-1). Harrison and New Zealand will wrap up round robin play against Croatia on Sunday.
