Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Saints Post Fourth Straight Shutout at Roger Williams

Lindsay Geier and Kaleigh White scored for St. Lawrence women's soccer at Roger Williams on Sunday, helping the Saints to a 2-0 win and the team's fourth straight shutout this season. Geier also assisted on White's second-half goal.

"Roger Williams was very disciplined in the attack and we had to make a few early adjustments in order to break down their offense," Head Coach Franco Bari said. "We scored two fantastic goals and both of our keepers were instrumental in the shutout. Overall this was a great weekend for our team."

With the win the Saints improve to 4-0, while Roger Williams falls to 0-4-1 for the year. The goals were the second of the season for both Geier and White. Goalkeepers Samantha Allen and Jackie Sovie have split time in each of the Saints' shutouts so far.

In the 38th minute, Geier put the Saints in front for good on a set piece from 30 yards out. She elected to take the kick herself and tallied the game-winner.

White added the insurance tally in the 55th minute after taking a short pass from Geier on the right side and cutting around the Roger Williams goalkeeper Natalie O'Donovan for an easy finish and the eventual 2-0 margin.

The teams were even in both total shots (11) and corner kick opportunities (3) on the afternoon. The Saints finished with a 6-2 advantage in shots on goal, as Allen made both save for St. Lawrence.

The Saints will play another set of non-conference road games next weekend, traveling to Nazareth and SUNY Oswego.
