Biography
2016: After splitting time early in the season, Sovie stepped in as the starting goalkeeper for the Saints as a junior...She played in 14 games, made 11 starts and finished with a 6-3-2 record...Sovie recorded her first career shutout in a 3-0 win over Bard on September 30 and had two shutouts on the season...She also posted a 0.63 goals against average and an .851 save percentage...Additionally, she was named to the Liberty League All-Academic team.Â
2015: Sovie made two appearances in goal for the Saints as a backup goalkeeper in her sophomore season, logging 80 minutes … She made six saves – two against Marywood and four against Elmira – and did not allow a goal … She was named to the Liberty League All-Academic team.
2014:  Sovie appeared in two games as a backup goalkeeper for the Saints and will compete for a starting spot as a sophomore ... She was named the team’s Most Improved Player at the annual awards banquet in the spring.Â
Prior to St. LawrenceÂ
Sovie was a three-sport athlete in high school, competing on the soccer, basketball and lacrosse teams and captained each during her junior and senior years ... An All-State selection on the soccer field her senior season, and a three-time All-Conference MVP  — twice for soccer, and the other for lacrosse ... Sovie was also a member of the Watertown Daily Times All-Star team in both sports two consecutive seasons ... She served as class president and was a NYPHSAA Scholar Athlete, a member of the National Honor Society and was recognized by the U.S. Air Force as Lisbon’s Outstanding Student-Athlete as a senior.
